Parthian
PARTHIAN is a 2006 son of Lonhro out of Greeting who retired from Godolphin’s racing program in June of 2013. PARTHIAN had a successful racing career which included 33 starts for eight firsts, nine seconds and two third placings, earning a total of $438,960 on the racetrack.
Following PARTHIAN’s retirement, he was gifted to a Godolphin employee before returning to fulfil duties as a Godolphin lead pony. In August 2020 he was then gifted to Scott Brodie where he found his long-term home with one of Scott’s students, 13-year-old Summer Harper.
Summer is a horse lover through and through who had been asking her parents for a horse since she was little. Her mother, Renae, told Summer that if she still wants a horse by the time she is 13 years old, they will look for one for her. Summer is now 13 years old and has her first horse, Parthian.
Not all retired racehorses are suited to beginners, however with the great guidance and support from Scott, Summer and PARTHIAN are thriving together. The pair attended their first ever Dressage competition in December 2020 after only 3 months together and came 7th in the Walk Trot class.
Summer loves spending time with PARTHIAN developing her riding skills and going on trail rides with friends to the beach and around the farm.
PARTHIAN is very lucky to have found such a great home with Summer and he has certainly been the perfect horse for Summer to kick start her riding!
