Giovanni, who boasts six wins in JRA racing, is a chestnut son of Admire Moon. He retired from racing in March 2016 and has since commenced his retraining programme at a riding club in Mie, Honshu, where he is already a barn favourite thanks to his sweet personality.
Staff report that he has the aptitude for jumping and has taken to pole exercises like a fish to water.
